As seen in Get Married magazine, Fall 2010! Artichokes have great texture and color. 5 minute candle holder transformation:
Step 1: Pick a lovely artichoke ($2) and cut off the bottom so it stays upright.
Step 2: Cut across top; carve out inside until you get to the clean interior leaves.
Step 3: Give the artichoke hole a nice lemon juice bath so it doesn’t oxidize.
Step 4: Insert a votive or small candle holder and a tealight. Enjoy.
Note: Store in the fridge with a wet paper towel.

This is the cutest project I have seen on your site so far(that’s saying a lot!) but I have a question. Is the part that I cut out edible? I’m just trying to plan dinner and a party.
great job… that’s really cute
such a cute idea! I’m going to have to try that for a kitchen shower I have coming up.
WOW – who would have though of this – YOU would, of course!

So glad everyone enjoyed this diy craft! Taryn, the center is the “choke” – not edible. You can however, eat the base you cut, that is the part of the heart, and very yummy.
I love that you did this! I kind of want to do this with a pineapple now. And any other fruit I can cut..
Gorgeous! These would make wonderful accents to a buffet table or even set out at a wine and cheese party. Thank you for sharing!
Wow this is a great idea !!
Whoa. Unique to the max. Beautiful work w/ the photos, too, my darling. Beautiful work.
Oh how beautiful! I would love to link to this if you didn’t mind, it’s gorgeous.
I love these! Do you think that I could do them the day before my wedding and just keep them refrigerated until then? I’m afraid of them turning brown.
